Meet the Professor, Dr. Melia Khaziran!
As a life long learner, I am passionate about education and the many ways an education can lead to success in life. However, the classroom is becoming a place where students are having an increasingly difficult time learning. Most students in a classroom don’t start off with the same knowledge base, ultimately getting lost during lessons and falling behind quickly. Over the years, the most common complaint I’ve had from students is that they are so lost, they don’t even know where to start asking questions. My specialty as a tutor is identifying a student’s basic knowledge, building upon it like a pyramid, and ensuring that the student understands each step of the lesson. By developing a strong, respect-based relationship with my students, we work as a team to reach their learning objectives, succeed on exams, build confidence in learning and teach effective study methods.
Background in Education
I have been an educator, tutor, mentor, and college advisor for approximately 18 years. I am currently a college pre-medical and life science professor teaching Anatomy, Biology and Physiology. I love being in the classroom and in the lab! I am excited and passionate about education and the idea that education is about learning how to learn, communicate, listen, interpret and understand difficult concepts; not only about getting a degree.
